====Department of Alchemy and Material Philosophy==== This is the "hard sciences" department, where the fundamental interactions of the essences, attributes, and materials of the world are studied - roughly the equivalent to "physics and chemistry". (For "life sciences", see the Department of Healing and Physical Culture which arguably ought to be folded into this department, since their studies proceed in much the same way using the same alchemical principles, but remains independent for historic and cultural reasons.) Graduates are either Masters of Alchemy (if they incorporate wizardry or other forms of sorcery into their work) or Masters of Apothecary (if their work is purely non-magical).
