Professor Coppersmith is the Universities Alchemical Historian. He has only a very small amount of sorcerous talent, primarily around magical methods for evaluating materials and objects.

He's a somewhat resigned-looking middle-aged balding man. Generally good-natured but seems a bit dissatisfied with his lot in life.

In addition to his formal role, as a hobby he's also what passes for the kingdom's best expert on dragons.
