Professor Sieglinda Sachenmacher

Dwarfish. She's about 4 feet tall, dwarfishly stout, but has deceptively frail-looking hands which are in fact quite strong. She keeps her black hair and beard trimmed short as a matter of practical safety - no good getting pulled into machinery.

She wears thick cloth pants and long-sleeved shirt, iron-toed safety boots, “steampunk”-looking safety goggles, a leather cap with flaps that can be pulled down to cover her hears, fingerless leather gloves, and a sturdy leather apron.

Born and raised in Dunkelangsam to a family well known for its mechanical aptitude, she's an obsessive researcher and experimenter and relocated to Salamander to expand he knowledge. Her workshop made a living for her and her work-products brought enough recognition that the idea of having her become faculty through the College of Natural Philosophy and the Useful Arts was put forth.

She's currently on a wild academic quest to invent a truly “general purpose” automaton, which is assumed to be impractical. Her initial proof-of-concept experiment with a homonculus is only the beginning. A bit of backstory

Although not technically “in charge”, she is the most important person of the small Artificer's Guild.
