Lost-and-Found
No mere closet of recently-misplaced trinkets and baubles, the Lost-and-Found is more like a museum of objects both recent and ancient whose ownership is indeterminate or which are owned by the department through donation, salvage rights, or occasionally purchased outright by the department itself.
The do also have a closet full of recently-misplaced trinkets and baubles, incidentally, but only as a part of their overall purpose. Morally-proper people will bring apparently-lost trinkets, money, and occasionally children for their owners/guardians to come and find them. Unclaimed objects for a sufficiently-long period become property of the College of History and Esoteric Studies. (Unclaimed children go to one of the official orphanages).
Prime Curator: Quoldafrapnipper R. Garish - very studious by gnomish standards.
